Built around the AS9102 forms, trimmed to what a small shop or a buyer actually needs. Use it as a pre-flight before you ballooned the drawing.
Before inspection
- Confirm the drawing revision on the PO matches the drawing on the bench
- Balloon every dimension, note, and GD&T callout in drawing order
- List every characteristic with its nominal, tolerance, and inspection method
- Confirm gauges and CMM programs are in calibration and traceable
- Confirm the part is from the production process, not a hand-finished sample
Form 1: Part accountability
- Part number, revision, and description
- Drawing number and revision
- Purchase order and lot or serial number
- Full or partial FAI, and the reason if partial (rework, revision change, process change)
Form 2: Product accountability
- Material specs with cert numbers
- Special processes (heat treat, plating, welding) with supplier and cert
- Functional tests required by the drawing and their results
Form 3: Characteristic accountability
- One row per balloon: requirement, result, and pass or fail
- Actual measured values, not just a check mark
- Nonconformances documented with a disposition, not hidden
- Designed tooling and gauges identified where used
Before you send it
